Fertility and your emotions

If you’re in the process of finding out why you haven’t conceived yet, you may be feeling a bit helpless.

Suddenly someone else is delving into your personal life, and you want to keep it private. You may feel a sense of shame or embarrassment, and resentful of friends who appear to have no problems. Worst of all, your sexual relationship now seems governed by tests, doctors or calendars. Spontaneity goes right out of the window.

If this is you, try our top five tips for regaining control:

1. Gather information. You’re already doing this by being a Juno subscriber. But continue to find out more.

2. Talk to your partner about your feelings, and encourage some mutual support.

3. Your fertility is an issue for you both (not one or the other), so try to go to appointments together.

4. Treat yourself! If you enjoy massage or reflexology, book an appointment. If you like walking, do that. Just make sure you care for yourself.

5. Get some outside support - a good friend, or an understanding family member who will help and encourage you. Or talk to someone else who’s been through what you’re now going through.

If you have your own way of coping and staying in control, why not post us a comment here?
