Balance your pH to improve fertility
Fertile cervical mucus is vital to getting pregnant. If you’re a regular Juno subscriber, you’ll know just how important it is.
As you approach the fertile part of your cycle, your cervical mucus increases and becomes sticky, white, cloudy or milky. Just before you ovulate, it changes, becoming clear and stretchy like raw egg white, this is alkaline mucus. It allows the sperm to travel through the vagina, the cervix and on to the uterus.
If you don’t have mucus like this, it might be because it’s too acidic. You can easily check out your fertility naturally with our complete fertility testing kit - which includes a visual guide to fertile cervical mucus.
If you’ve discovered you need to re-balance your system and make it more alkaline, try a store cupboard ingredient…
Bicarbonate of soda can help balance your pH levels and regulate your body’s biochemical reactions. It’s readily available and cheap to buy. Look in your supermarket in the baking section, but make sure you don’t buy baking powder. It isn’t the same thing!
Simply dissolve about half a teaspoonful in a small glass of water and drink it daily for two weeks or until you see an improvement in your cervical mucus.
