Breakfast like a king – it could boost your fertility

It’s true what they say - eating breakfast is the best way to start your day. But with our busy lives it’s an easy meal to skip which could be affecting your fertility.

Skipping meals causes hormone levels to plummet - bad news for your reproductive health. And missing breakfast is the worst one to skip. Because you’ve been asleep all night you need to break your fast to get your system going and give yourself some fuel for the day ahead.

Protein-rich energy foods are the way to go - they’ll give you energy and won’t lead you to the biscuits or crisps halfway through the morning, whilst also keeping those hormone levels stable!

Try these ideas for a healthy breakfast (and give the coffee a miss):

• eggs, poached, scrambled or boiled (add some smoked fish for extra protein)
• organic unsweetened museli
• porridge (oats can really give you a boost)
• fresh fruit juice, unsweetened (organic if possible)
• organic live yoghurt
• wholemeal toast spread with a nut butter or Marmite
• fresh fruit (but make sure it accompanies museli or porridge)

If you’re someone who can’t face breakfast or doesn’t have time, how about something portable like a hard-boiled egg, followed by a banana an hour or so later?

Give your fertility a boost, and get into the habit of breakfast. It could pay dividends!
